Dr John Ebejer has been awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. HEA Fellowship is widely recognised by universities in the UK and worldwide as a certificate of competence in teaching at higher education level. It is awarded to professionals who can demonstrate they meet the criteria of the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and supporting learning in higher education.
Dr Ebejer’s Fellowship application was backed up by a three-week teaching placement at the University of Westminster where he collaborated with academics with many years experience. The lectures delivered by Dr Ebejer during the placement were very well received.
Dr Ebejer is an urban planner specialising in tourism and urban regeneration. He lectures at the Institute of Tourism, Travel and Culture (ITTC). The recently appointed ITTC Director, Dr Marie Avellino, welcomed the award, noting that this is a reflection of ITTC’s constant efforts to improve the quality of teaching offered to tourism studies students.
