Professor Peter Mayo was invited, between 2-7 April, as guest Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to deliver talks on Pedagogy, Migration and Racism (public talk), Critical Pedagogy (online interactive course) and conduct a session with doctoral students on how to get published. His visit was sponsored by the College of Education and the European Union Centre at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
This is the latest in a series of talks for which Professor Mayo has been invited this academic year. Last November he was keynote speaker at an international conference on Museum Education convened by and at the Università degli Studi di Firenze. In May he is guest speaker at a seminar organised by Das Kollektiv at Linz Austria on the issue of Pedagogy and Migration,. and in June he is one of two keynote speakers at an International conference on Emancipatory Education in Paris.
As Visiting Professor at UCL/ Institute of Education for 2016-2018, on 15 May he is delivering a Llakes Seminar at UCL on Gramsci and Migration and the next day, 16 May, he conducts a doctoral seminar on Critical Pedagogy at Goldsmith's University of London.
