The publication entitled 'Graduate Employability Skills in Malta,' authored by Dr Anne Marie Thake, Head of Public Policy within the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy is a first of its kind to examine how institutional actors interpret, influence and respond to skills availability in the labour market for graduates.
It researches and draws lessons from the Maltese experience of managing graduate employability over three decades. The focus is on the three most rapidly increasing economic sectors, namely, Accountancy, Pharmachem, Information & Communications Technology, each of which is subject to a comprehensive critical analysis.
The book launch was held on 11 October 2018, at Deloitte, and a number of interested parties, including the Hon Minister Evarist Bartolo, attended. The speakers, Mr Malcolm Booker, CEO, Deloitte, Mr Clyde Caruana, CEO, Jobsplus, Professor Frank Bezzina, Dean, FEMA, Mr Francoise Grech (Exigy Ltd) – ICT Company, discussed graduate employability skills from international, national and sectoral perspectives.
The book, intended for employers, higher education institutions, professional associations, Government, undergraduate and postgraduate students, is published by Kite Group in a limited edition, in high-quality and hardback format.
