The Deputy Director General of DG Environment at the European Commission visited the Institute for European Studies this week to hold a workshop on the future of environmental policy and the views of young people. Dr Joanna Drake is the highest Maltese official within the European Commission and has been deputy DG at Environment since 2016. The workshop saw the participation of 20 young people in the discussion and formulation of recommendations on what should be the Union’s priorities for the future in this area. Organised in conjunction with the Institute’s Europe Direct Information Centre, the workshop was held within the European Documentation Centre on campus on Tuesday 9 April.
