Ιtaloellenica 2019. Proceedings of the Conference on language and translation (Athens, Language Laboratory, Translation and Study of Italian-Greek Language Contact, 21 November 2017), edited by Domenica Minniti Gònias, Editions of the National University and Kapodistrias of Athens
The Italoellenica conference took place at Athens University in collaboration with the Universitá Orientale of Naples and the University of Malta. The proceedings contain two studies on Translation Studies by Prof. Joseph Eynaud and Prof. Sergio Portelli academics of the Department of Translation Studies.
The Athens Language Laboratory Department is closely connected to the Orientale of Naples, by virtue of its contribution to the development of Italo-Greek relations, since it was the first Italian university, more than two centuries ago, to accept the teaching of modern Greek in its curriculum. The connection with the University of Malta is due for the importance given to the study of Italian Language and Literature and Translation Studies. The two universities were represented in the Scientific Committee of the Conference respectively by Rita Librandi, professor of History of Italian Language and member of the illustrious Accademia della Crusca and by Joseph Eynaud, Professor of Translation Studies, a fervent promoter of the Italian language and translation in Malta.
