Earlier this year Prof. Maria Attard, Head of Geography and Director of the Institute for Climate Change & Sustainable Development was appointed Senior Jury member for the REGIOSTARS Awards standing in for Category 4 projects related to 'Building climate-resilient cities'.
REGIOSTARS is an annual awards competition organised by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Regional and Urban Policy to showcase innovative, regional EU-funded projects. The awards have been organised since 2008 and this is the first time Malta was represented in the jury.
The awards took place in Brussels on 10 October 2019. A recording of the awards night and a description of the winning projects can be viewed online.
