Dr Clarissa Sammut Scerri, Head of Department of Family Studies, Faculty for Social Wellbeing was invited to deliver a presentation on 'Support services for children witnessing domestic violence and children orphaned by domestic crimes'.
This was during a joint workshop entitled 'Family as a hub for social policies' organised by the Department for Family Policies of the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the European Social Cohesion Platform of the Council of Europe (PECS) in Rome, Italy from 9 to 11 October, 2019.

The Joint Workshop meeting also focused on other important social topics that have an impact on families in Europe. The topics included 'Work-life balance and company welfare'; 'Family measures to promote the increase in the birth-rate in Europe', and 'Eradication of child poverty'. The main conclusions and recommendations of the meeting will be published in an outcome document in the near future.
