Dr Duncan Ayers, a cancer researcher at the University of Malta studying the use of micro-ribonucleic acid (miRNA) in mitigating the effects of often devastating chemotherapy, delivered a talk on the importance of translational medicine in the context of cancer research to HSBC colleagues during a CSR Breakfast Talk to mark World Cancer Day.
The HSBC Malta Foundation is funding Dr Ayers' research with €84,000 through the University of Malta’s Research, Innovation and Development Trust, as part of its commitment to the university’s medical research efforts for the benefit of the community.
