In continuing to deliver on its mission of serving students and society sustainably, the University of Malta is announcing the launch its first ever Student Solidarity Fund, an initiative to aid part-time or full-time university students, who reside in Malta, who are in financial dire straits due to COVID-19.
These financial difficulties may be due to loss of earnings because of business closures, self-isolation or illness.
The Student Solidarity Fund will be maintained by regular or one-time donations from staff members, as well as contributions from outside the University community, and will continue to give assistance to students even once this pandemic will be over.
A Committee, chaired by Pro-Rector for Student & Staff Affairs and Outreach, Prof. Carmen Sammut, and composed by academics and students, will evaluate requests in consultation with relevant professionals, including UM social workers.
The Fund is also being supported by the Kunsill Studenti Universitarji (KSU).
Donations can be made in any of the following ways:
• Via direct bank transfer in this account -
BIC: VALLMTMT
• Via filling in of an online form created specifically for the Fund
Every little bit helps.
