Two academics from the University of Malta's Department of Pharmacy participated in two webinars, which were part of a series of digital events organised by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).
Dr Nicolette Sammut Bartolo contributed with a presentation entitled Pharmaceutical Technology Practicals – The shift to the “new norm”.
During the presentation, she highlighted the innovative practice adopted in the Department of Pharmacy of incorporating the Quality System implemented by the Department in the laboratories as part of the practical sessions.She discussed planning for the transition to the ‘new norm’ and reflected on possible scenarios which will be faced in the coming scholastic year including the incorporation of additional precautions to be adopted to run in-lab practical sessions.
She also discussed challenges in delivering and assessing virtual practical sessions and proposed solutions to address these forecasted challenges.
Professor Lilian M. Azzopardi contributed as a Speaker during the Webinar organised by the International Pharmaceutical Federation on ' Return to Pharmacy Education: Planning for the Upcoming Academic Year'.
Professor Azzopardi reflected on leadership aspects of the approaches on addressing new 'musts' in pharmacy education following COVID pandemic disruption.
