Prof. Luciano Mule’ Stagno, Director of the Institute for Sustainable Energy, was a plenary speaker at the ISEE 2021, the second annual International Sustainability Event.
This event was set up by the Kingdom of Bahrain, which has, since 2016, worked on its National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) and National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP).
The event, which was held remotely between 23 and 24 March, saw experts in the field of sustainable energy meet virtually and engage with stakeholders interested in building a brighter future. Renewable energy and Energy Efficiency businessmen, government officials, students, researchers and members of the general public were in attendance.
Prof. Mule’ Stagno’s presentation was entitled ‘Offshore Floating Solar Energy – The Next Frontier in Renewable Energy'.
He made reference to the University of Malta’s SolAqua Floating Solar Panels Project, which address the issue of scarcity of land in small countries like Malta or large coastal cities where it’s difficult to find adequate areas to build large solar farms.
The event programme can be revisited online.
