Global Wellness Day is celebrated annually on the second Saturday of June, across the globe, and is dedicated to the only thing which is really valuable to us, that is, living well.
On this day, we ought to recognise the value of our lives, to pause and think about how to make peace about ourselves, and raise awareness about living well and being a motivation to others.
For the occasion, Dr Mary Joan Camilleri, Head of Counselling Services at UM, and who also leads the Health and Wellness Centre at the University, kindly shared five tips on achieving contentment in our everyday life.
Read on, for your own contentment:
Don’t seek perfection. Strive to think positive. You’ll feel better at the end of the day. Set targets. A timetable helps tick all the items on your to-do list. Don’t forget to reward yourself! Being content means understanding yourself better. Try to see the glass half full rather than half empty. In life, it’s normal to experience happiness and pain. Happiness is achieved when you understand the difference between the two. You did it! Sit back and enjoy. Achievements don’t matter as much as the fact that you’ve done your best to improve yourself.
