CAMP-sUmp (CAMPus sustainable University mobility plans) is an 18-month long project and has been developed to improve sustainable urban mobility planning instruments such as SUMPs (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans) through innovative mobility strategies inside university campuses across the MED area and their integration with the surrounding urban areas. University campuses in the MED area cover an average of 430.000 m2 and an average of 35,000 students and employees. They are also historically very related to their urban area.
In the CAMP-sUmp project seven campuses will be used as test areas for sustainable mobility policies. Project partners, Magna Graecia University Foundation, Universities of Athens, University of Valencia, University of Cyprus, University of Split, University of Malta and University of Bologna, will work on increasing awareness among decision-makers on the current situation of mobility in and around the university area. The project aims at developing action plans for sustainable mobility in and around the university campuses.
