Campus FM is inviting individuals or organisations to submit proposals for a new live breakfast show planned for the schedule October 2018 till September 2019.
The aim of the programme is to provide a Monday to Friday current affairs programme with an element of light entertainment which, where possible, could be related to the subjects under discussion. The programme should include:
- a review of main local and international current affairs though different genres including discussions and one to one interviews with personalities in the news and also those where students and academic staff are the protagonists.
- a newspaper and news portal review that could be spread throughout the programme. e.g One could review the coverage in all papers on a particular topic and then phone someone and discuss the issue with him/her.
- A daily slot of culture news and a short review of the foreign press as well as the cultural news we do today.
- Matters of direct interest to the University of Malta
- An element of light entertainment provided mainly through music playing.
The programme will be broadcast between 07:30 and 09:00 and should be hosted by two presenters.
The production and presentation of the progamme has to be of a very high standard. It should also respect broadcasting laws and regulations.
Campus FM will retain editorial control as well as the right to decide on the technical and aesthetic quality of the programme. The ultimate responsibility and therefore control will always belong to Campus FM.
Those interested in presenting proposals should present a 30-minute demo as well as a running order of a typical programme.
They should also indicate the remuneration format they are proposing. Producers ready to produce and present the programme in exchange for advertising air time that the station will make available, will be given preference. Other formats of financing the programme would, however, also be considered.
Three copies of the proposals as well as of the demo should submitted to Campus FM, Old Humanities Building 2nd Floor, University of Malta by noon 16 August. The offices of Campus FM are open Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 13:00.
Campus FM
Campus FM, which forms part of the Malta University Broadcasting, is the University of Malta’s radio station, broadcasting a variety of locally produced and foreign produced programmes.
Built on a tradition of quality broadcasting, the station has collaboration agreements with a number of entities, such as the BBC World Service and Classic FM in the UK, United Nations Radio and Putumayo World Music.
Campus FM transmits twenty-four hours a day on the analog frequency 103.7 FM, as well as on DAB+. CampusFM is also available on the internet.
