Upcoming events
27 - 28 September: Vision 2020 Marine & Maritime Helix Launch event at Villa Bighi, Kalkara. This event will bring together members of the network who are interested in forming consortia under Horizon 2020 calls in the Marine & Maritime Field, mostly Blue Growth and societal challenges. It will feature various distinguished speakers as well as 5 ERC grantees in the sector, who shall interact with the public during the annual Science in the City event on 28 September.Open Calls
ERC grantsAre you a researcher with an excellent scientific profile and with visionary research projects in mind that you want to realise in Europe? The European Research Council (ERC) has a funding scheme that will meet your needs.

HORIZON 2020 TWINNING
This call is designed specifically for the 'low performing' member states including Malta. It needs to be coordinated by Malta, partnering up with two other 'Centres of Excellence'. It does not fund research but rather networking between these three entities in order to improve research performance.

Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions (MSCA)
Would you like to learn more about the revamped Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions? Searching for bottom-up research funding and host a post-doc researcher? Are you a research institution/company looking for partnership with academia in third countries as well as industry? The following call for proposals are currently open:
MSCA Innovative Training Networks (ITN): This programme is designed to train a new generation of creative, entrepreneurial and innovative early-stage researchers, able to face current and future challenges and to convert knowledge and ideas into products and services for economic and social benefit. ITN will raise excellence and structure research and doctoral training in Europe, extending the traditional academic research training setting, incorporating elements of Open Science and equipping researchers with the right combination of research-related and transferable competences. It will provide enhanced career perspectives in both the academic and non-academic sectors through international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral mobility combined with an innovation-oriented mind-set.

MSCA Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE): The RISE scheme promotes international and cross-sector collaboration through exchanging research and innovation staff, and sharing knowledge and ideas from research to market (and vice-versa).
