The Office for Human Resources Management & Development and the Research Support Services Directorate are organising a Basic Chemistry Course. This course targets non-chemists working in a laboratory environment and handling chemicals and staff with a chemistry background wishing to refresh their memory on basic chemistry concepts.
The University of Malta houses approximately 300 laboratories on and off campus. These include teaching, research and servicing labs. The nature of the work varies from purely chemical to industrial engineering, heritage conservation and medical just to mention a few. The expertise of technical staff is therefore vast and specialised to their line of work. However, quite a few members of technical staff have requested basic chemistry training since chemicals play an important part in the majority of laboratory settings. This course was created to cater for this need.
The course will be held on the following dates from 10:00 to 12:00:
Tuesday 9 July
Thursday 11 July
Tuesday 16 July
