On the occasion of the International Day of Education 2020 the Faculty of Education would like to join UNESCO to show its determination to continue its action for quality education to all. This year's theme is: “Learning for people, planet, prosperity and peace” and for this reason the Faculty believes that it needs to continue its collaboration with the authorities, schools, teacher unions, teachers and parents to ensure quality education for all students.
The Faculty of Education would like to work with its stakeholders for inclusive and equitable quality education, and to create more lifelong learning opportunities to contribute in “breaking the cycle of poverty that is leaving children, youth and adults behind” (UNESCO, 2020). The Faculty feels obliged to provide access to learning opportunities to everyone, and to make sure that the most vulnerable in society can avail themselves of learning experiences which can empower them. Moreover, in the light of climate change concerns, the Faculty has a crucial role in raising awareness of the urgency in the matter.
