Aims and Overview
The Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH) is a UK-based association committed to multi-disciplinary research and practice within child and adolescent mental health. ACAMH has recently set up the first international ACAMH branch in Malta and is delighted to announce the call for abstracts for the 1st Annual Conference in Child and Adolescent Mental Health which will be held between 28 and 29 April 2016.
One of the aims of ACAMH is to continue advancing standards and to support professionals working with children and young people who suffer from mental health difficulties. The conference will focus on a number of specialist areas within Child and Adolescent Mental Health including ADHD, perinatal mental health, mood-related difficulties and parent-child attachment.
The multidisciplinary conference is aimed at individuals across a number of professions (teachers, psychiatrists, paediatricians, psychologists, social workers, psychotherapists and psychiatric nurses) and sectors such as academia, mental health, health, and social care. The conference will focus on service development, research-based assessment, intervention and research.
Abstracts
ACAMH welcomes abstracts from interested professionals who are able to present on any topic related to child and adolescent mental health.
Guidelines for Abstract Submission
- Submissions are invited on any topic related to child and adolescent mental health, possibly regarding mental health assessment, an evidence-based therapeutic approach, a piece of research pertinent to the field or a critical review.
- Abstracts should be no more than 300 words and the format should include: introduction, method, results, and conclusion.
- All abstracts must include the submitting author’s name, his or her current appointment, place of work and email address
- Preferred format of presentation - oral or poster must be indicated.
- Please note that spaces for oral presentations will be limited and some individuals who submit for an oral presentation may be offered a poster presentation. Authors of those chosen for the oral presentation will be requested to submit a 200-word biography and a final version of their presentation in PowerPoint format at least one week prior to the Conference. All oral and poster presenters will be liable for the Conference registration fee.

- All submitted abstracts will be judged by a panel of professionals in the field.
