University of Ljubljana (SI), University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences from Vienna (A), University of Brescia (I) and the company Pikotorama d.o.o. are organising two international interdisciplinary summer schools in the framework of Erasmus+ 2015 project KA2-HE-14/15 entitled Environmental protection (in 2016) and Natural Disasters (in 2017). Both of them will be organised in the city of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The first summer school Environmental Protection will be organised between 27 June and 17 July, 2016. It is going to be a combination of blended learning supported by e-classroom (first week) and actual face-to-face learning (second and third week). Two main topics are going to be discussed: Environmental Management, Economy and Governance (the second week of the summer school) and Sustainable Use of Natural resources & Green Technologies (the third week of the summer school). The lectures and workshops will be led by international team of professors from all three involved universities as well as some other distinguished guests. Students are going to be actively involved in the work of summer school with discussions, round tables, laboratory work and preparations of different presentation and final exam. Successful participation will be rewarded by 5 ECTS.
The first 20 accepted applicants from University of Ljubljana, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences from Vienna and University of Brescia will obtain full scholarship for summer school attendance. The call is opened also for other students in EU, but the total number of participants is limited up to 40. The registration fee is 800 EUR and it includes administrative and IT support, accommodation with breakfast and lunch for 15 days and two field trips. The call is open for Ph.D. students and also master students who are interested in further doctoral study. Students who would like to attend summer school without live participation in Ljubljana could take part in the first week of blended learning and e-classroom activities as other participants, while later they will join lectures and workshops on-line. In such a case, registration fee is 300 EUR and participants will obtain attendance confirmation letter, but no ECTS.
