Master by research in Electronic Instrumentation - Fully Paid Scholarship 2016
A fully-funded Master by research is being offered by the University of Malta in collaboration with the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI). PSI is the largest multidisciplinary research centre in Switzerland with 4500 international scientists using its facilities, an annual budget of €342 million per year and an overall capital investment of more than €2 billion.
PSI will be launching its new flagship project this year: the SwissFEL which is planned to perform ground-breaking experiments in the composition of matter. This Master by research is in the field of electronic instrumentation and is specifically designed to be applicable to local industry.
The research project will be based at the University of Malta with the possibility of spending a few weeks at PSI. Graduates and 4th year students in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Computer Engineering are eligible to apply. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in research with access to state of the art equipment. The selected students will find collaborating in an international multidisciplinary environment a very enriching personal and professional experience.
Successful candidates will receive a maintenance grant of about €13,500.
