The editorial board of the Malta Review of Educational Research (MRER), in collaboration with the Directorate for Curriculum, Research, Innovation and Lifelong Learning, is organising the 2017 Summer Institute - Teaching Writing Critically for 21st Century Skills.
The MRER Summer Institute combines learning innovation, technology and critical thinking skills with creative writing, with a view to transforming teaching-learning environments and processes.
The Institute will be composed of a mix of practical workshops and reflective discussion sessions. This Institute is open to all educators who teach through languages. The minimum requirements for applicants are: a permanent teaching warrant; a first degree or equivalent in teaching; and at least three years of teaching experience. Educators with writing process methodology training and/or experience will be given preference.
The Institute is five days long, from Monday 17 to Friday 21 July, between 08:30 and 13:00, and will be held at The Seminary Complex, Tal-Virtù.
The participation fee is being fully co-sponsored by the Institute and by the Department for Learning Programmes and Assessment, within the Directorate for Curriculum, Research, Innovation and Lifelong Learning. A maximum of 30 participants will be accepted on a first come first served basis.
