'Dynamics of Mediterranean artistic interaction in the Late Middle Ages and Renaissance Periods’ (9 March 2018)
Submission deadline: 19 January 2018
This one-day conference convened by Dr Charlene Vella from the University of Malta’s Department of Art and Art History, which will be held on 9 March, will focus on the artistic exchange that occurred in the Mediterranean in the Late Medieval and Renaissance periods. The Mediterranean basin, known as the cradle for civilization, is a melting pot of cultures. In the Late Middle Ages and the Renaissance, the Mediterranean witnessed crusades, pilgrimages, the rise of several maritime powers and military orders. The aim is to create a forum for the discussion of original ongoing research that interprets art related to these periods produced anywhere in the Mediterranean.
We invite abstracts of up to 300 words in English, for 30-minute papers, and a short CV, by 19 January 2018. The conference will be in English.
Please send abstracts to Dr Charlene Vella by email.
