The Malta Council for Science and Technology (MCST) will be organizing an information session on COST, Co-operation in Science and Technology
The Information session will be held on Friday 18 May 2018 at 08:30 at Esplora, Activity Centre Level 0, Kalkara.
COST is the networking mechanism by which researchers can gain excellent networking exposure with colleagues working in same areas across Europe. It is administratively extremely simple and inclusive. Each EU country can be represented on a COST action by means of two members, making it an added advantage to researchers based in Malta. Over 80 new actions are approved each year and in the last 6 years over 400 researchers in Malta have begun to benefit from COST participation. The huge advantages of participating in COST, both to academics as well as to SMEs, industry and public entities will be highlighted during the information session.
The session will be addressed by COST Executive Director Dr Ronald de Bruin and COST Senior Administrator - Science Operations Mr Christer Halen.
The meeting will be of direct relevance to academics from University, MCAST and other higher educational and research institutions and it will also focus on the benefits for industry, SMEs, employers and public entities. COST is an instrument that aims to include all stakeholders, not only academics, as research and innovation affects all sectors. Researchers based in Malta will also be given the opportunity to give their personal experience of COST.
The agenda and registration form may be found online.
Participants are asked to complete the registration form found online and send it to Dr Melchior Cini at melchior.cini@gov.mt by noon on 10 May 2018.
Places are limited and confirmation will be given on a first come first served basis. Looking forward to seeing you there.
