Elsevier webinars on publishing and Scopus
The University of Malta Library, in collaboration with Elsevier, is organising two webinars which are targeted at academics, all postgraduate researchers and PhD students, and Library staff.
Webinar 1: Understanding the publishing process
The goal of this presentation is to provide background information on academic publishing. It outlines the various important steps that, as an Author, you need to follow in preparing your manuscript for a successful publication. From the title and keywords, right through to the conclusion and references, all the essential criteria are covered to make sure it can be a success. The importance of using proper scientific language in a manuscript is covered in the workshop. All the main ways to present your work, including the correct use of tenses and grammar, as well as why proper language is vital, are featured in this module.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
A workshop to understand how Scopus can be of help to your work in Research. Through this database you could easily monitor all the most recent development in your area of interest. Scopus also offers a complete suite of tools that will help you evaluate worldwide academic production to look for possible collaboration, author profiles and institutional production. During the session, we go through all the different kinds of searches that could be made in Scopus, how to use Scopus results and how to evaluate candidate journals for publication with all the information provided by Scopus.
