The Developing Cultural Competence (DCC) is a program that brings together students from all over the world to meet virtually with our NC (North Carolina) State University students to learn about and share ideas on cross-cultural communication and cultural preferences. It is a short program. Students meet once a week for around 90 minutes virtually over the course of 4 weeks. They also have some offline and small groups to work on and, if they successfully complete the program, receive the NC State GTI Certificate.
The DCC is also a part of the program for the IRES grant and, while not as deep and enriching as an in-person program, is a great way to get students linked internationally and learn about and practice concrete cross-cultural dialogue skills.
The Institute of Digital Games has an international partnership with NC State and thanks to this, the program is offering four full scholarships for the upcoming February or March Sessions. Note that his is open to undergraduates only.
DCC applications are done online and are currently open but will close on 14 January. If your students are definitely interested but you are unable to make the 14 January deadline. If you have any questions, kindly send an email to the Institute of Digital Games at the University of Malta.
