Course structure
- Introduction to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Types of SOPs – technical SOPs (analytical SOPs, sanitation SOPs, instrument SOPs, quality assurance SOP) and administrative SOPs (complaint processing SOPs, etc.)
- Purpose of SOPs – need and their benefits
- Regulatory requirements of SOPs
- Preparations of SOPs – writing style (how to refine the language to produce clear and comprehensive documents) and general format of SOPs
- How to write an effective SOP
- Practical component: A workshop in process writing gives participants the opportunity to actually write about a process and then assess the results
- Implementation, review and revision of SOPs
