It is suitable not only for academics but also for representatives from SMEs, NGOs and public entities. COST actions are thus ‘bottom-up’ approaches to research and will fund networking meetings (usually twice per year), short-term scientific missions, training schools and publications. It involves minimal administration and leads to excellent contacts as well as involvement in the preparation for future grant proposals e.g., as in Horizon Europe.
We are also proud to announce that two of these actions were proposed by Maltese researchers from the University of Malta: CA21136 “Addressing observational tensions in cosmology with systematics and fundamental physics” which was proposed by Dr Jackson Levi Said from the Institute of Space Sciences and Astronomy and CA21112 “Offshore freshened groundwater: An unconventional water resource in coastal regions?” proposed by Prof. Aaron Micallef from the Department of Geosciences, Faculty of Science.
