Event: Student Roundtable: Shaping Digital Action
Date: Friday 30 September 2022
Time: 16:00 – 17:30 BST
Venue: University College London, United Kingdom
Join students across the UK, France, Malta and Cyprus for ‘Shaping Digital Action’: mapping skills, identifying gaps and digital solutions
Are you interested in running a citizen science project, a makeathon or a hackathon? Are you interested in working with members of the public or community groups for your research? Do you want to know more about what methods you can use to do this or hope to design successful citizen science and similar activities? Or do you simply have some time and want to meet some like-minded students across UCL? If so, come and join us!
HEIDI, a research project at UCL, invites you to participate in a roundtable discussion with students from across departments at UCL and from (include the other partners here) about digital skills. The roundtable will provide space to explore your ideas about digital skills, how these have impacted your student experience, any you think are essential for students, and how digital action can offer opportunities to develop digital skills.
Included in the hour-long event will be the following presentations and discussion points:
- What is Digital Action? How much have you been involved in Digital Action?
- How can I use Digital Action to support citizen science research?
- How HEIDI understands Digital Action
- What Digital Skills are important for Digital Action (for staff, students, community members)?
- The connections between digital skills and roles
This event will be run both in-person and online, so all participants will be sent a Zoom link.
