Introducing a New Funding Call for Women-Led Initiatives in Msida,

Empowering women to lead sustainable, community-driven change is at the heart of a new funding opportunity launched under the SUBLIME SDGs Project, co-funded by the European Commission through the DEAR Programme.

This call supports innovative, women-led initiatives in Msida and its surrounding areas, encouraging local actors to design actions that champion sustainable lifestyles, circular economy solutions, climate justice, and greater gender equality.

In Malta, this call is being implimented through a collaboration between local NGO Kopin and Local Council of Msida. Msida being a thriving harbour town characterised by its dynamic mix of residents, students, migrant communities, and long-standing families. faces unique environmental and social challenges, from congestion and urban density to limited green spaces.

At the same time, the town is rich in community potential, cultural heritage, and civic participation. Supporting women-led initiatives in Msida therefore offers a meaningful opportunity to strengthen local resilience, advance climate-conscious urban living, and promote inclusive engagement across its multicultural community.

This call forms part of SUBLIME’s broader mission to strengthen climate-resilient communities by supporting grassroots leadership—an essential step forward as women continue to be disproportionately affected by climate-related challenges while remaining underrepresented in decision-making roles.

The full application pack can be accessed online.

Applications are open until Monday 22 December at 23:59.
