Michael Briguglio participates in RethinkBlue COST conference in Tallinn

Prof. Michael Briguglio (Department of Sociology) participated in the Mid-Term Conference of the RethinkBlue COST Action which was held in Tallinn, Estonia. Prof. Briguglio occupies the role of Science Communication Coordinator, Core Group Member, and Malta representative on its Management Committee.

The papers presented in the conference included two papers about Port Cities in which Prof. Briguglio is co-author.

The Mid-Term Conference brought together scholars from across Europe to reflect on progress made and to advance social science perspectives on the Blue Economy. Building on the Action’s foundational framework, discussions focused on emerging contradictions, conflicts and synergies linked to Blue Economy policies, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, justice and interdisciplinary collaboration.
