Interreg is a Programme co-funded by the European Union (EU) that supports cooperation across borders. The next deadlines are for Interreg EUROPE, and here below is a recap. In addition, the deadline for Interreg NEXT MED is now extended from 30 April to 30 May 2024. Projects should address the specific needs and challenges of their territory, and demonstrate a good understanding of how to engage with the priorities selected for this programme as a whole. This generally includes priorities for (1.) for A Smarter Region, (2.) for A Greener Region,(3.) for A More Connected and Social Region, and (4.) for Better Governance and Cooperation. The aim is always a very strong impact at a territorial level, and long lasting results beyond the project output. A clear methodology is also necessary to monitor and evaluate impact with specific indicators, and also to communicate with clarity between partners. This contributes to a heightened sense of balance and better cooperation to develop strategies across borders, joint-actions, and activities with high impact. All partners should have a proven track record to implement, draw from a realistic budget, and understand the context of each territory with the right kind of expertise. Remember, visibility and effective communication are key for successful projects. Projects are encouraged to develop a communication plan that outlines a strategy, raises awareness of each activity, and engages with a variety of audiences on behalf of the programme as a whole. Spotlight: Interreg EUROPE brings countries together to choose an objective and work on a shared policy issue as a region. This makes Interreg Europe unique because it has one overarching Priority 4.
