Research Interests:

Contemporary art music, composition for the media and music technology.

Gordon Zammit studied composition with Charles Camilleri and Joseph Vella. In 2001 he graduated with honours as a Bachelor of Arts in music at the University of Malta where in 2004 he obtained a Master in Philosophy(M.Mus.) in Composition from the same University. Concurrently, he was readingGordon-Zammit for a Post Graduate Certificate in Music Education (P.G.C.E.). Zammit also attended courses in composition conducted by John Metcalf (UK), Peter Liewen (USA) and Ada Julia Stilman (USA).

In 2005, Zammit completed a Master in Music Degree in Composition (taught) with distinction at the University of London. A PhD degree in Composition followed. Zammit’s works have been performed both locally and abroad (Malta, Greece, Tunisia, Italy, Germany, France, United Kingdom, USA and Japan) and participated/won various international composition festivals. Zammit is a composer for the media and a music teacher by profession. He taught music at almost all levels both locally and in the United Kingdom.
