Criteria for the audition and interview include technical ability (control, flow, quality of earlier training, ability to talk technically about music); the student’s potential for development (quality of observation, commitment, expression, musicality); social interaction (the student’s openness to new ideas and ability to work with others); articulation (ability to explain their interests in music studies and express their opinions); creativity (the ability to respond to tasks, improvise, take risks and problem solve); and critical thinking skills in written English.
