Placement Title:Project Support Trainee/s: Pre and Post Award Phase
Host Organisation Name:University of Malta - Project Support Office, Finance
Placement Description:During the placement period, the selected candidate/s shall report to dedicated Project Support managers or their duly appointed delegate(s) and will be expected to:

• Familiarise him/herself with regulations of the funding bodies and UM policies;

• Assist with the drafting of budgets of new project proposals and coordinating the collation of information for the review of such proposals prior to submission of application;

• Ensure the relevant documentation of any project proposal is adequately kept so as to serve as a basis for documentation once the project is awarded;

• Ensure the smooth transition of projects from their acceptance at the pre-award phase to the commencement at the post-award phase;

• Carry out assigned administrative and financial tasks in relation to the projects;

• Deal with the day-to-day correspondence relating to the assigned projects;

• Check and process time sheets of staff working on the assigned projects;

• Check and process purchase orders and invoices representing project expenditure;

• Maintain the necessary project documentation, including procurement documents and invoices, the upkeep of the project files as per programme manual and University policies;

• Be pro-active and keep abreast with developments in the relevant funding rules and regulations;

• Assist in the preparation of progress reports, claims and any other project related reports;

• Assist the Project Support team and the academics during project audits and on-the-spot checks;

Attend any training as may be provided by the Project Support Office or the University in general from time to time; and

Undertake any other tasks, which may be assigned by the respective line manager or his/her delegate.

Proficient in research methodologies; can design, conduct, and analyse surveys, interviews, and other types of psychological research.
