Placement Description:Bank of Valletta plc. (BOV) is offering a number of University students the possibility of applying the knowledge gained at University in a work context. Selected students will be offered to work on Compliance related projects as identified by specific business units at BOV.

We are accepting students on our graduate programme from three core business areas:

• Financial Services

• Audit, Risk and Compliance

• Accounting

Successful candidates will be offered a part-time (20 hour per week) paid work experience during the scholastic period which can be extended to full-time (40 hour per week) employment during the summer period or on an indefinite basis (depending on the student’s year of study) as part of BOV’s Graduate Programme provided that they are successful in their part-time work experience.

Interested students are to apply by sending their CV (including all university grades obtained so far) by not later than the 31st of October 2019

Applicants may be asked to sit for an interview as part of the selection process.
Requirements:Interested students should have the following requirements:

• This call is open for University students (preference will be given to students in their penultimate or final year of their Graduate University course).

• Applicants must be following a course at University in the following fields of study: Banking, Finance, Economics, Law, or Information Technology. Other areas may be considered if relevant to Bank of Valletta’s specific project/field of work.

• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is requested from all applicants. Knowledge of Maltese is also desirable and will be considered as an advantage.

• Candidates must be willing to work in different locations in Malta and Gozo depending on the exigencies of the project being undertaken.

Placement Description:Trainees will directly experience the development and implementation of policy measures in various departments. This will allow trainees to acquire a broad understanding of the complexity of the Public Service.

Responsibilities: Analyse and review reports and documents apropos the initiatives and activities falling within the Ministry’s remit; assist in Social Work units; conduct research on issues falling within local and international contexts.

Trainees will have the opportunity to work on flexible schedule between 5 to 20 hours a week.

Placement Description:Trainees will have the opportunity to obtain hands-on experience from various Procurement departments. This will allow trainees to acquire a broad understanding of the complexity and dynamics of the public service procurement cycle and practices.

Responsibilities: Evaluate payments in the light of the financial regulations; work on payment and procurement processes from concept to audit stage, including procedures related to requests for quotation (RFQ), vet and draft Tenders and Quotations, utilise the Electronic Public Procurement System (e-PPS) etc.

Placement Description:The chosen candidate/s will be working under the guidance of a team of very experienced architects. The main duties of the selected candidate are to manage the design of road schemes and junctions from concept to detail design.; to prepare necessary drawings for the proposed road schemes; to carry out traffic engineering analysis and structural calculations for the proposed road infrastructure; to prepare and submit planning approvals to MEPA; to prepare estimates at the various stages of the design process; to research, plan, design and administer projects, applying knowledge of design and construction procedures; to consult with superiors to determine functional and spatial requirements of new projects and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, estimated costs and construction time; to contribute actively and validly to the implementation of a comprehensive plan for the redevelopment and restoration to an acceptable condition and standard of the country’s arterial and distributor roads; to direct activities of contractors engaged to carry out projects according to drawings and specification documents; to administer construction contracts and conducts periodic on – site observation of work during construction (or any other work) to monitor compliance with plans.
