ITP Outreach

The Island Tourism Platform (ITP) organises seminars and carries out research on matters relating to island tourism. These activities are intended to offer information about island tourism and to foster an interest in this subject.

Although tourism in Malta features in the ITP’s activities, tourism in other small islands, including those located in the Caribbean Sea, the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean also included in the ITP’s research portfolio.

Many of these small islands depend highly on tourism to generate income and employment, and issues relating to sustainable development, carrying capacity and overtourism are often treated in the discussion activities and research carried out by the ITP.
