Gilmour Camilleri currently holds the position of Director (Economics) Communications, Energy, Transport and Financial Services within the Office for Competition at MCCAA. For more than six years, Gilmour Camilleri was an Economics Analyst at the Economic Policy Department within the Ministry for Finance of Malta, leading the macroeconomic modelling and forecasting team. Gilmour was actively involved in research projects within the Ministry including ad-hoc requests by local and foreign authorities and the quantification of budgetary measures which input helps in the policy formulation and decision-making process. Gilmour is a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Economics, University of Malta and a research assistant on projects related to cultural economics and wellbeing including Valletta, 2018 European City of Culture. His main teaching areas include Mathematical Economics and Applied Macroeconomics. His research interests include Macroeconomics, Structural Macro-econometric time-series Modelling, Applied Econometrics and Forecasting and Policy Analysis. He graduated in Commerce and in Economics from the University of Malta and through a scholarship from the Economic Policy Department, Gilmour completed a Master of Science in Economics and Econometrics at the University of Nottingham in 2015, with Distinction.
