Professor Joseph Eynaud lectures Interpreting Studies.
In 1978 he joined the University of Malta where he taught Italian Literature and the Teaching of Italian as a Foreign Language. He was Head of the Italian Department and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
In 2003 he founded the Department of Translation and Interpreting Studies within the Faculty of Arts of which he was Head of Department till 2018. He set up the first Interpreters' Laboratory and Terminology Centre. Prof. Eynaud was President of the International Association of Italian Professors and has organized international congresses in Malta, Italy, Poland and Spain. He was awarded the title of Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana by the President of the Italian Republic, H.E. Azeglio Ciampi.
He is the author of a number of books on Italo-Maltese Literature, textbooks for students reading Italian as a Foreign Language and has published various articles in scholarly journals on Language, Literature, Didactics and Translation. He has participated and read papers in a number of international fora, conferences and seminars.
