Research Support Officer

Julia Alegre Mouslim (°1997) is a Belgian-Argentinian queer woman, philosopher, activist, and Ph.D. student at L-Università ta’ Malta. In 2019 she graduated magna cum laude with a master’s thesis on the tension between identity and freedom. After obtaining her MA in Philosophy at the University of Antwerp, she co-founded the non-profit philosophical organization 'Troebel.' As a philosophical activist and educator, she focuses on the philosophy and lived experiences of gender, queerness, ethnicity, sexuality, community, belonging, and freedom.

Through an intersectional feminist and decolonial lens, she works as a Ph.D. student on political activism and public pedagogy. In this research project, she takes political activism and feminist pedagogies of resistance as a departure to rethink the complex, embodied educational relations formed in coming together through dissenting actions.

Sara Ahmed’s politics of complaint and Judith Butler’s performative theory of assembly will guide this research on resistance, solidarity, community, and marginalized narratives.

This research is part of the European Training Network 'Solidarity in Diversity' (MSCA ITN 2021-2024).
