Rochelle Xerri obtained a B.A. (Hons) in Archaeology in 2021. Her dissertation research investigated the social zooarchaeology of the Maltese Neolithic, using faunal remains and representations as a basis for interpretation.

Ms Xerri is currently doing an M.A. (By Research) in Zooarchaeology with the University of Malta in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Geoanthropology in Jena, Germany. Her research focuses on using microfauna as proxies for Pleistocene to Holocene environments.

From 2022, Ms Xerri was employed as a Research Officer I with the Department of Classics and Archaeology, in support of the Malta Quaternary Palaeoecologies and ERC funded ISLANDLAB research projects.
