Posters & Banners (1996)

Two PN campaign devices of 1996 are shown here: Near the City Gate, a framed picture, with a demonic picture of MLP leader Alfred Sant, urged voters not to trust him. However, an MLP supporter arranged to reverse that message by using some spray paint and a lipstick.

The 1996 campaign also saw large banners strung across narrow streets in various towns. The array pictured here was fluttering in Valletta. These banners were obviously less permanent than old-style placards glued to buildings and also less likely to be defaced by political opponents.
