Chemistry applied

All living things are made of chemical compounds and it is by studying these compounds that we learn about how our bodies and our environment works.

In this week's X-Lab we meet a chemist whose job it is to identify toxic pollutants in the environment, a doctor who is trying to find ways to eliminate malaria and another doctor who has developed a way to see through embryos to study their growth. In the lab the students make a chemical dough.

This week’s experiment:

Making chemical dough with borax
