The use of lasers and fibre optics is helping scientists make more accurate and more detailed measurements of the world around us.
In X-Lab this week we meet scientists who are using these technologiesin innovative ways such as to take temperatures in extreme conditions and to measure very small quantities of hydrogen. In the studio the students build a home made fibre optic cable.
