Internal Research Grants Programme call

The purpose of the Internal Research Grants Program is to support academics in carrying out their research and act as a springboard to obtain additional funding from other local and foreign sources. 

The programme is split into two strands, with the first being an allocation amongst applicants as research funding, named the “Research Seed Fund”, and the second, the award of four projects of € 60,000 to be implemented over a two year period, named the “Research Excellence Fund”. One such project is being awarded in each of these priority areas:

  • Life Sciences
  • Natural Sciences
  • Engineering, ICT & Built Environment
  • Arts & Humanities

The Research Support Services Directorate manages the application process for the award of research funds allocated to University of Malta researchers.

The funding is overseen by the Research Fund Committee at the University of Malta.

The application must be completed and submitted online through the provided google form by the application deadline, available here.

Proposals must be submitted by noon on the 14th of January 2019. Late applications will not be accepted.
