Youth, Not Status

Apply - Admissions 2016

Dear colleagues and Organizations,
We are pleased to announce a new project called Youth, Not Status, a series of workshops about integration and social inclusion entirely dedicated to youth. The project, co-financed by Erasmus+ aims to bring together young Europeans and young refugees/migrants to include them in conversations about human rights.
The project is tailored to youth needs and the main objectives are to:
  • promote the participation of young people in discussions among themselves and with decision-makers as a tool for prevention against radicalization, racism and marginalization;
  • foster integration and social cohesion between young communities;
  • promote intercultural dialogue through empowerment and active involvement with other young people living in Malta;
  • provide human rights information and skills necessary to structure ideas and strategies;
  • support empowerment in political participation and decision making through dialogue with decision and policy makers.
The programme is a unique opportunity to acquire practical tools to support youth in developing common perspectives for sustainable strategies. They will be guided on how to formulate political demands, comment and provide input on how Malta’s youth policy can be used as a tool to promote and encourage integration. Throughout the project, we will be focusing on human rights, advocacy skills, intercultural learning and active participation.
The project will include:
  • social events to act as ice-breakers and foster relationship-building;
  • a Youth Camp weekend (September 2017); and
  • a series of workshops, leading to a policy encounter with the Minister for Education and Employment.
Some workshops will be held before the Youth Camp weekend, others will follow.
Applications will go live on 1 June 2017
Further details can be seen on the project page

I would appreciate if you could share the call with your contacts and with youth you think can be interested. It would also be great if you could publish the marketing material in attachment, on your FB page, and on the FB pages of your organisations.
Many thanks for your ongoing support.
Warm regards,
