- Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE)
In order to be considered for admission and to satisfy the University’s General Entry Requirements you need to present:
(a) the Diploma of Secondary Education with an acceptable overall average grade of B or better, and final good passes in a language (excluding English), a humanistic subject and a science subject (preferably Mathematics) in the final year of studies. If not presented in the final year of studies, good passes in a language (excluding English) and Mathematics, may be accepted from the penultimate year; and
(b) a valid Secure English Language Test (SELT) to satisfy the University’s English Language Requirements. Access more information in this regard; or
(c) a final year grade of 4 or better in English which can be accepted in lieu of the above-mentioned English test.
When choosing courses / areas of study having Special Course Requirements (except for the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, the Master of Dental Surgery and courses accepting a limited number of students*), said requirements will be satisfied if you present final year passes with a grade of B or better in the subjects stipulated as Special Course Requirements; except for English language.
*Applicants wishing to join the courses leading to the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, the Master of Dental Surgery, and courses accepting a limited number of students, must separately present passes in the applicable Special Course Requirements from the MATSEC Board, or comparable Boards, at the level and grade / or comparable, as stipulated in the respective course regulations or bye-laws.
