Postgraduate scholarship in breast cancer research

Europa Donna Malta and UM’s Research Innovation & Development Trust (RIDT) have joined forces to offer a postgraduate scholarship in breast cancer research.

The scholarship, which is funded by the local NGO, is an opportunity for the chosen individual to work on a project to study the mechanisms of metastasis in breast cancer, under the tutorship of two leading academics at the University of Malta.

Other than the benefit of working with Prof. Godfrey Grech and Prof. Christian Scerri in the Faculty of Medicine & Surgery, you will also be paving the way for more timely and much-needed studies on finding better ways to prevent, detect or cure what is one of the leading causes of mortality locally and across the globe.

If you are:

  • in possession of a Master of Science degree, specialising in biomedical sciences
  • eligible for Ph.D. studies at the University of Malta
  • familiar with qualitative research methods
  • familiar with immunohistochemistry techniques, real-time PCR technology & cell culturing

then you are exactly who we’re looking for.

A basic maintenance allowance of EUR 12,000 per annum for a maximum of three years, as well as a maximum of EUR 15,000 to cover University bench fees and other related expenses will be given.

If you’re an international candidate, then this website will familiarise you with the requirements upon application stage.

Submit a letter of application by not later than 7 August 2020 by email, together with a scanned copy of your certificates.
