Licentiate in Sacred Theology

Opening: every year
Duration: 4 semesters full-time (day).
Mode of study: taught and research

The S.Th.L. programme is designed to enable students acquire the cognitive (analytical - understanding and interpretation), practical (evaluative and strategic - policy making and implementation) and technical skills as well as the attitudes (critical/constructive) required of those exercising pastoral ministry in today's world. The course consists of a number of study-units and seminars on themes such as: pastoral theology, social ministry, catechetics, Liturgy, church development, and pastoral counselling. Students will also be required to spend a period of their pastoral formation in ministry placement and to compose a dissertation.

This programme is recommended for those who:
-    are engaged or preparing themselves for pastoral ministry;
-    wish to obtain a second cycle canonical degree or teach in a major seminary;
-    wish to register for a Doctoral Degree in Sacred Theology (S.Th.D).
