The Department of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering (DMME)
The Department was established in 1992 within the Faculty of Engineering to provide units dealing with materials for the B.Eng.(Hons) undergraduate degree.
Today the Department offers lectures in materials engineering to the:
- Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with Materials
- International Master of Science in Heat Treatment & Surface Engineering (MinSE)
- Master of Science in Industrial Product Development (IPD)
- Master of Science in Conservation Technology for Masonry Buildings
Another main activity of the DMME is
research in the field of materials engineering. The department currently has four ongoing Ph.D.s and two M.Sc.s by research.
