SIMIT

New Project Funded by the Italia-Malta Programme

In September 2014 the ICCSD has participated in the SIMIT (Integrated System for Transboundary Italo-Maltese Civil Protection) meeting held in Malta. All the partners involved in the project were present: University of Malta, University of Catania, University of Palermo, Civil Protection Department of Malta and Civil Protection Department of Sicily.

The SIMIT Project aims at developing an integrated civil protection network between the Sicilian and Maltese bodies involved in the risk forecast, prevention and mitigation processes, and moreover in the planning and management of emergencies, to be further extended to the cross border countries.

Representing the University of Malta was Mr Carlos Canas Sanz, Research Officer at the ICCSD.
