The Department of Communications and Computer Engineering, (CCE) developed from the division of Electrical Engineering into three new departments in 1995. The focus of CCE is within the area encompassing computer systems and communication systems, computer networks and the signal processing necessary to analyse, model, process, code, transmit and decode multimedia data travelling over fixed and wireless networks. The Department is therefore responsible for this area within the B.Eng. Degree as well as within the B.Sc. I.T. Degree. Since the setting up of the Faculty of ICT and the sharing of engineering between the Faculty of ICT and the Faculty of Engineering, CCE is responsible for the new three year engineering degree in Communications and Computer Engineering. The Department also gives support by teaching appropriate modules to students both in the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of ICT.
The academic staff in CCE has the necessary expertise to teach students in this area as well as to conduct research. This web page is intended to give current information on teaching including courseware related to both semesters that can be found in each academic's page. We also include the current and past research that the staff is engaged in.
